Firewood Northumberland

↘ Chain saw

How to Guide

↘ Start by using a chain saw to trim all the branches from your log

↘ Next you need to cut your wood into pieces about 16inches long, which is an ideal length for most fireplaces, although depending the size of your fireplace they may need to be larger or smaller

↘ Next use your chain saw to cut shallow grooves in the log depending on how big you want your pieces / how big your fireplace is

↘ Use the chain saw to cut about three-quarters of the way through the log at each 16-inch groove. Don’t try to cut all the way through the log, you’ll end up sawing into dirt or rocks
